Description

All lines have reopened following overhead electric wire problems between Wigan North Western and St Helens Central. Trains between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

To help you complete your journey, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following in both directions:

  • TransPennine Express or Northern services between Preston and Manchester Piccadilly

  • TransPennine Express or East Midlands Railway services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street


Rail replacement transport has been requested to run from Wigan North Western, calling at:

  • St Helens Central

  • Liverpool Lime Street

Rail replacement transport has been requested to run from Liverpool Lime Street at 16:12, calling at:

  • St Helens Central

  • Wigan North Western

  • Preston

At Preston, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available TransPennine Express service towards Glasgow Central.
